Quality Assurance Team, Cortegra in Evansville, Indiana

 The Quality Assurance (QA) Team has responsibility for making certain that all of the products that leave the manufacturing facility are produced to meet or exceed customer specifications and expectations. 

QA inspects the products produced in the facility and follows each job from the time it enters manufacturing until it is shipped out – looking at paperwork, following the manufacturing process and doing product testing.  The team is looking for any type of defect, which could include variations in ink color and spots in the printing.  QA also wants to assure that the text and graphics are all present and correct, make sure any folds are manufactured correctly and, in the case of a label, making sure it adheres properly.  All of the processes are designed to ensure that there are no variations in specifications from customers.

According to the team, there is a great deal of satisfaction in knowing that each of the steps in a job process is accomplished during the day in a timely manner.  The team manages its own time to complete assignments within established parameters.

The quality team uses good judgment to make sound decisions and understands the process flow of the products. They support the production team with continuous improvement initiatives such as reduce waste/improve yield and grow the continuous improvement culture.

The team frequently receives much-appreciated positive feedback following the work process related to a drug launch, which is often done within a compressed time period.  The employees also know the role they play helps assure a safe and secure supply chain, helps keep counterfeit drugs out of the supply chain and provides consumers with information that helps them make informed choices. 

The facility and team have never been involved in a product recall or audited by the FDA, which provides confidence in the procedures they are following and that the service provided is top-notch.
