January 11, 2008, Neenah, WI – The Menasha Corporation Foundation today announced donations to several Fox Cities-area organizations:
- $15,000 to CAP Services for the Fox Cities Skills Enhancement Program
- $15,000 to Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley to help fund an additional case manager position
- $5,000 to Harbor House to upgrade crisis helpline equipment
- $5,000 to the Volunteer Center of East Central Wisconsin for general funding
- Smaller grants to Fox Cities Rotary Multicultural Center, the Natural Resources Foundation of Wisconsin and the Winnebago County Literacy Council
“We are proud to continue our support of CAP’s Skills Enhancement Program, which gives working-poor individuals the opportunity to increase their wages and benefits by providing skills training on a part-time basis while they remain employed. CAP Services is to be commended for its record of raising program participants’ wages an average of $13,000 a year, with increased benefits, in its Fox Cities program,” said Ralph L. Evans, Foundation president. “With the increasing poverty level in the Fox Valley, our funding for the Emergency Shelter of the Fox Valley will help ensure that there is a continuing, systematic process for helping the homeless achieve greater self-sufficiency.”
