Menasha Corporation and its companies recognize the responsibility they have to be good corporate citizens and have been leaders in promoting the goals of environmental sustainability in our manufacturing practices and processes and also through grants made through the Menasha Corporation Foundation.

We understand that there are many opportunities related to sustainability in the products we manufacture.  That’s why we’ve made significant investments in manufacturing equipment that can run lighter weight liner board, reduce the amount of controllable waste and why we work with customers to design products that use fewer resources and are more environmental-friendly. 

At Menasha Packaging, its Retail Integration Institute (RII) helps customers understand the materials, processes, impact metrics and brand conversion elements that encompass sustainability.  Its Environmental Sustainability Calculator™ (ES Calculator) was designed to benchmark sustainable applications in an easy-to-measure format that aids decision-making. 

ORBIS Corporation’s Green Calculator shows the impact a company can make on the environment by using plastic reusable packaging solutions.

Here are a few more examples of what we do:

• Protect air and water quality at our manufacturing facilities
• Use energy resources wisely
• Seek to continuously improve methods for reducing waste, emissions and the use of hazardous or toxic materials
• Recycle waste materials
• Work with a variety of organizations to promote sustainability through and with organizations including the Sustainable Packaging Association, Paper Industry Association Council, 100% Recycled Paperboard Alliance, Abundant Forests Alliance and the Sustainable Forestry Board
• Work with paper manufacturers to develop and market new high-quality paper packaging boards that contain post-consumer waste fiber
